Trump’s Billionaire Ambassadors Sweep Senate Approval

Meanwhile, the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate confirmed three of President Trump’s ambassadorial nominees, sending billionaires to strategic posts in Europe and the Middle East:

  • Warren Stephens, United Kingdom & Northern Ireland, 59-39 vote.
  • Tom Barrack, Turkey, 60-36 vote.
  • Tilman Feritta, Italy.

Stephens, former CEO of Stephens Inc. in Little Rock, has been a major GOP donor, contributing millions to Trump-aligned PACs. Senator Tom Cotton praised him as a “family man, businessman, philanthropist, and patriot,” highlighting his suitability to strengthen U.S.-UK relations. Trump lauded Stephens as someone who “has always dreamed of serving the United States full time.”

Barrack, a longtime Trump ally and private equity executive, was also confirmed amid strong party-line support.

This series of high-profile moves signals the Trump administration’s focus on replacing key federal legal and diplomatic positions with loyal allies, reshaping both domestic enforcement and international representation.
